Europe and Europeans

Since its inception the European Union has been doing what it can to protect our precious environment with its Environment Action Programme. The programme is set to research and protect the Earth’s climate and making sure the EU is part of the solution rather than the problem. Key rolls are air pollution, prevention and recycling of waste, protection and conservation of the marine environment, soil, sustainable use of pesticides, sustainable use of resources and urban environment. To make sure progress is headed where it should the European Environmental Agency (EEA) was formed in 1994 and has members from 32 countries.
