Peace

By bringing all of Europe together under one umbrella the EU has also brought peace to all European countries. As more nations join the European Union and head of states work closely together it has helped to iron out major differences between those nations. The European Union can now focus more on international peace rather than inter-Europe squabbles. With an increasing threat in international terrorism an unified Europe is much better equipped to deal with the situation rather than each nation fighting on its own.

Student Exchange

One of the great things the European Union has done with the educational system in Europe is opening the doors for student exchange programs. Young people all over Europe get to experience new cultures and educational opportunities. The latest reports show that over 1.2 million students are currently studying in foreign schools using the ERASMUS Programme. That means university graduates are more cultured, speak more languages and generally more prepared in dealing with foreign business practices. These are all win-win situations for students and the economy.

Cheaper Travel and Airfares

Since the forming of the European Union has opened up the markets for all participating countries this includes travel services. Train travel prices have fallen and most notably air fares withing Europe. Having a central governing body has enabled better air traffic management and naturally more competition. There are more flights to more locations and Europeans can find flights that are almost free between some destinations. As a result of the European Union air travel has also become more safe as there are now central guidelines and regulations.

The largest factor in the European Union has been the single market economy that essentially means that citizens and companies of the EU can freely move themselves and their goods around the participating countries. This has opened up the doors for many individuals looking for a change in locale or to explore better career opportunities in neighboring countries. For companies this means that they can focus on what they are best at and increasing their market from a single country to a whole continent. Many businesses have prospered due to this.
